Spring Scents | Calvin Klein & Paco Rabanne

Sunday 15 March 2015

I and a lot of other males are long gone from the days we would spend our pocket change on Lynx Africa thinking we were some sort of irresistible human being that could attract anyone or anything with the sweet smells of a four pound aerosol can, but those days gradually went by when the teenager and adult in ourselves discovered cologne - our saviour.

If you're like me then smelling good is one of the most important things in my daily routine and forgetting to do so is my biggest nightmare. So in this post I am going to recommend you some of my favourite spring scents and colognes that I love to wear on almost a daily basis.

Like I've mentioned smelling good is extremely important and having a scent that smells just perfect is a necessity. Long gone are the days of aerosol cans, yes sometimes they smell nice and feel almost refreshing with the crisp scented air hitting your body but are they long lasting? No. This is why you need to make room on your shelf for the perfect cologne.

Colognes and Aftershaves come in a variety of different scents by different brands and my two ultimate go to smells are those from Calvin Klein and Pac Rabanne.

The scents I use and wear on a daily basis are those that are already very popular with other males therefore it's a scent everyone loves and uses. My first scent that I use on an everyday basis is my Calvin Klein One cologne that I have used for almost two years now.

Calvin Klein One is a fragrance that almost everyone is familiar with and has a smell that is instantly recognizable to many. What makes this particular cologne perfect is that not only is it the perfect transitional piece to use from day to night but that it's incredibly cheap price for a brand that big. We all know that Calvin Klein is a huge brand across the world but when it comes to their fragrance prices they're almost very generous. The lastest steal deal on this aftershave is that Boots are offering a 200ml bottle for just £24.99.

Calvin Klein offer a range of different fragrances but One is one of their most popular fragrances and ultimately one of my favourites. As I mentioned it's a perfect scent to use a transitional piece from day to night and perfect on every occasion. Personally I find scents to pin point what they smell like but this one is just perfect and not overpowering to others.

Besides fragrances from Calvin Klein, Paco Rabanne is another one of my favourites. It's important with fragrances to treat yourself every now and again and Paco Rabanne's Million cologne is definitley one that you should always treat yourself with.

Million, the fragrance that's infused with grapefruit, blood mandarin, peppermint and finished off with the masculine scents of rose absolute, musk and cinnamon is one of my all time favourties and certainly my go to night out cologne.

Despite the heavy price tag it's the perfect scent for those who love all things expensive, is it just me that picture this fragrance with business man-esque look? Yes, I know I'm complete opposite but this fragrance is perfectly suited for me and my weekly nights out on the town. The fragrance comes in a reflective gold bottle that almost represents a bar of gold with the One Million logo graved into the front.

Paco Rabanne's One Million can still be a transitional piece to wear from day to night but the scent has more of a going out vibe and feel to it therefore I recommend to not use this scent on a day to day basis. Like I mentioned, the fragrance has a heavy price tag with the largest bottle of 200ml comes in at a price of £71.50, this is an expensive price to pay but for to use on a weekly/monthly basis it's worth the amount you're paying but be sure to look out for Boots deals on this particular cologne because it can become a perfect deal steal.

If you're familiar with these two fragrances, have you used them? and if so what do you think?

If you haven't then feel free to leave some suggestions of the perfect scents this spring that I could use for two occasions, a day to day scent and a night out scent.

That's all for this post, thank you for reading and feel free to leave your comments below as I look forward to reading and replying to them.

  1. I love One Million, got in little bit of a comfort zone with it! I find Aqua Di Gio a nice spring summer aftershave too, it's worth a try.

    1. It's just great isn't it? Same here, I'm so comfortable wearing it that I'll be using it time after time. I haven't heard of that one, I must look into it and try it out, always happy to try some new fragrances, cheers.

  3. I've been wearing One Million for over a year now and I know you should always try to change up your scent but it is so difficult to say no to it! Versace Eros does offer different, bolder flavours but Paco Rabanne is still a winner.
